Nowton Court Village

S.R. July 2016

We booked my 84 year old mother into Nowton Court Village mid-February for convalescence following a broken pelvis just before Christmas. Due to the kindness and attention given to her during her stay she went home two weeks later a new woman walking without a frame and with a regained confidence. In fact her stay was so successful we are just completing on the purchase of one of the luxury retirement apartments, The Grange, located in the beautiful grounds. She cannot wait to start this new chapter of her life having independent living but with the benefit of the Manor House facilities being just a step away from Rosemary and her fantastic caring team for which nothing is too much trouble. I would not hesitate in recommending.

M H-M July 2016

My mother has been living in the Nowton Court retirement village for the past 4 years. She has an apartment in the independent living section known as The Grange, but is able to use all the facilities of the manor house. This includes a dining room where she can order a good lunch, a Wellbeing centre, and access to all the activities that are organised each week such as Tai Chi, art therapy, games afternoons and so on.

The manor house is decorated beautifully, with lovely lounges for relaxation and a well stocked library. The grounds are well maintained, and being right on the edge of Nowton Park it’s easy to get out into the country.

I feel very happy that my mother has found such a lovely place to live, with caring people who are available 24 hours a day. I have found the management to be very understanding and responsive to her needs.

K.S. August 2016

My mother stayed here in July following an operation and found it an ideal retreat in beautiful grounds with caring, friendly staff. She had also stayed here last year and felt it was the perfect place to rest and recuperate.

E. S.  July 2016

My old mother is very appreciative of the help and kindness from the staff at Nowton Court.
She appreciates the setting and the views of the trees in the lovely gardens.

L.R. October 2016

I stayed for a period of 5 weeks for convalescence following a major operation. The room I had was a very good size with an adjustable bed, reclining chair, T.V. tea making facilities, and a modern en-suite with a wet room all of which was extremely comfortable.  The staff were very attentive, courteous and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.  I had a very pleasant stay in wonderful, peaceful surroundings which certainly made me have a speedy recovery.

J.C. October 2016

I would like to express my thanks on behalf of the branch to all staff for providing such an excellent lunch and service.

L.H. October 2016

I would just like to say a big thank you and all the staff for the very hard work displayed.  A most warm welcome was received.  Nothing was too much trouble and we were appreciative of the attention we received.  My sincere thanks. Magnificent job!.

C.K. December 2016

Thank you all very much for the care and kindness shown to me during my recent visit.  Thanks especially to the Kitchen who coped with patience, my picky attitude towards food.  Happy Christmas to you all.

C.S. January 2017

Thank you so much for making our stay so comfortable.  Everyone has been extremely helpful and anything we needed was very promptly supplied.  I am grateful to have had a break from cooking and staying here has made the transition from hospital to home much easier.

P.S. January 2017

Thank you so much for the warm welcome and all the TLC i have received from the team.  I look forward to visit again.

C.S. February 2017

My husband came to Nowton Court Village after spending 5 weeks in hospital.  I did not feel he was moving forward so i booked him into Nowton Court Village.  I also stayed and because i had no worries about shopping, cooking, etc; i could help him improve.  This is an ideal place to recuperate and have extra service i.e. washing done, rooms cleaned and choice of food.  The views are beautiful as the building stands within Nowton Park and there is widlife to watch from every window.  I would recommend Nowton Court Village for anyone requiring a peaceful place to recover and regain strength.

Anon. April 2017

Many thanks to you all for your excellent care.  You “went that extra mile” beyond your duties and made my stay at Nowton more than a convalescence.

Your patience, energy and good humour brightened up my day and those cakes were another “extra”.  It is lovely to have met such a hard working and caring team.

MU – April 2017

I am feeling much better than recently and i have been looked after very well.  I feel quite able to take up where i was for many months, before i was ill.  Thank you for the care i have received and hopefully i shall be back home, which i am really looking forward to.

Thanks to everyone who cared for me so carefully.

VN – April 2017

A big thank you to you and all of the staff at Nowton for making the past few weeks so comfortable for my mum.  Whilst it wasn’t her home, it was safe, relaxing and homely.  She could see the lovely gardens and hear birds singing.

It was a huge comfort to me knowing that people were there and looking in on her, bringing her drinks, meals and the favourite Lemon Drizzle cake.

ES – June 2017

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you at Nowton for your kind, care and attention my mum has received over these last few years.

So, here’s a big thank you from all of my mum’s family.

DB – July 2017

I would formally like to thank you Rosemary (Manager) and all the staff for everything you have done.  Without your support Dad would not be as fit and well as he is, and indeed the whole family have benefitted from your support over these recent months.  All of us really appreciate all that you have done.

AH – July 2017

Thank you, you have been so kind.  Thank you for everything you you did and all of your support the last few weeks.

E.S. – August 2017

There is a high level of care and kindness from the committed staff who work at Nowton Court.  They have the well-being of their clients at the utmost and always try to sort out issues quickly and efficiently.

G.W. – August 2017

I only stayed a week, it was excellent.  All the staff looked after me all the time and i had excellent meals all week. When i’m next in hospital i would love to come to you again.  I will let you know when i will be available to come back, possibly for a longer time.

P.L – August 2017

I booked in as a visitor in order to visit my wife in a nearby nursing home.  The building was magnificent, the staff friendly and helpful and the room excellent and the food fine.  I was called away prematurely, but would certainly visit again.

L.H. – September 2017

I had such a lovely time and everyone was so kind.  I think i will come back in the Spring when the daffodils are flowering; the view will be wonderful.

K.W. – September 2017

My mum had an amazing stay and recovered very well thanks to the excellent surroundings and support of all the staff.  She will be back!.

D.C. October 2017

An amazing, kind and friendly care home, with lovely hard working staff; also a beautiful building in superb grounds.

J.O. December 2017

Exceptionally high standards of care and attention by ALL staff.  They are very competent and courteous and met all my needs and expectations.

K.R. November 2017 (Function)

I just wanted to say a big thank you and your team for helping us to deliver a great two days of training last week.  As always the venue is greatly appreciated by our delegates.

Personally i want to just say how grateful i am for the help, friendliness and kindness of all your staff.

C.A. December 2017

Happy Christmas to you all, and thank you for your help whilst my mother was with you.

J.F. January 2018

I would like to thank you all most sincerely for your care and expertise during my stay at Nowton Court for the last two weeks.

When i arrived i was in considerable pain, caused by a fall damaging my ribs.  Movement was difficult and breathing was rather spasmodic.

From the beginning i was given a warm welcome by all the staff.

The concierges were all excellent.  Special thanks to Matt who attended to small problems concerning lighting, heating and television reception.  He was even able to fix my computer and ensured that my newspapers were delivered!.

The catering staff were all very good, producing healthy meals, beautifully presented.

The cleaning staff also helped in making my stay enjoyable.

I left yesterday, after two weeks, feeling refreshed and reasonably pain free.  I was assured that if i needed to return, i would be welcome.

Thank you all.

G.W. February 2018

So many thanks for a very comfortable stay.

J.C. March 2018

Thank you so much for putting on a such a lovely welcome.  I have such happy memories of coming to Nowton Court and am grateful for the lovely care.

S.C. March 2018

My mother was an elderly resident at Nowton Court during the last 5 years of her life.  This provided her with the privacy she had been used to in her own home; yet always someone on hand to talk to her at anytime during night or day.  She enjoyed her chauffeur driven trips into town; overseen by a caring Concierge.  The staff were very responsive, supportive, kind and helpful.

My mother was a watercolour artist in Scotland, and she was able to continue with her enjoyment of this, using the wonderful Library area.  She loved the peace and quiet of a comfortable corner, all to herself, in one of the many splendid Sitting Rooms.  The surrounding park & gardens gave her much pleasure, as did keeping the bird table well supplied.

The home cooking was of a high stand and Chef catered for her individual needs.  After her funeral, we held her celebration of life at Nowton Court, with excellent organisation from the management.  It was so successful, that we hope to hold a private event there.

K.W. – April 2018

I was so pleased with her stay… Mum and i were both very vulnerable in the circumstance of both her illness and her lifesaving surgery.  So to be met with such kindness and attention to detail while we were at a such a difficult time was amazing.  Words cannot express just how grateful i was to have had your support and personal attention.  A friendly face and a smile was what we needed most and that was given by all of you.

My mum is now doing amazing…. nearly 9 stone! and she was 6 stone 10 after her operation.  Thank you again.

Mrs S – April 2018

I came to Nowton Court Village from hospital having had a triple by-pass.  I stayed for two weeks as i needed complete rest and care.  I am over 80 and live alone. The care here is excellent and i cannot fault anything.  They even called the paramedics when my leg started bleeding and i had excellent attention.  Its is an extremely good place to receive help when needed.

S.B. – April 2018

I have been so impressed with the care my father has received and is receiving at Nowton Court Village.  He is improving daily.  Nothing is too much trouble and the staff really do care.  I would love to stay here myself!

N.B. – May 2018

This is a very fine place to stay.  The staff are excellent.  The food is outstanding.  The house and grounds are enormously beautiful.

H.P. – May 2018

Thank you so much for all you did for my aunt on her recent stay with you.  We so appreciated your kindness, care and thoughtfulness – it made a difficult time for her so much more bearable.  She is continuing to recover well and i miss my visits to such an  idyllic setting

M.G. – May 2018

Came to Nowton Court following a serious illness in hospital.  Found all staff very kind, helpful and will to put themselves out for my mother.

Unfortunately, we have to move my mother to a Nursing Home rather than ‘Assisted Living’ but i have no qualms about recommending this lovely place to anyone who needs canvalescing.  Thanks a million to you all.

S.T. – June 2018

I would like to thank you all for your kindness and making my stay comfortable.

V.S. – July 2018

My mother was in desperate need of respite.  She is in her 80’s now and has been a full-time carer for 18 years.  She was nervous about being a strange place but the staff were fantastic.  The house is fabulous and my mum’s room comfortable and cosy.  My mother particularly recommended the food, in fact, she returned to Nowton Court Village for a second visit!.

The house is incredibly peaceful and i would highly recommend for rest and recuperation.  Thank you to all the staff for taking care of my mother.

B.S. – July 2018

Everything was perfect, they could not do any more if they tried. Everyone was helpful, could not do enough.

S.M. – July 2018

I thought the gardens were beautiful and very relaxing.  It made me feel very comfortable.  The food was also wonderful, overall a lovely dining experience.  The staff were always very warm and always ready to help no matter the problem – a real credit to the company.

Absolutely, i would stay there again.

M.S. – July 2018

The standard of care is excellent.  Had a large room with lovely outlook.  Food and the variety of dishes were excellent.  Cleaning staff and ladies who served the meals and concierge, were all very good.

G.G. – Aug 2018

My mother came to Nowton when her ability to live independently became difficult.  Nowton Court was a perfect step from home to assisted living.  Everyone at Nowton Court welcomed her warmly and looked after her needs with dignity, compassion as well as good humour. Nowton Court operates very efficiently and professionally, but no-one ever forgets it is the resident’s home from home.

J.T. – Aug 2018

A beautifully appointed country house with well decorated public rooms and excellent service by charming people.  Most residents seem to keep to their very comfortable rooms. A excellent full Library.

V.K. – September 2018

The welcome, food, cleaning, laundry, service regarding wi-fi, etc, the Concierge’s, the Night Attendant’s – Everyone in other words – have been kind, attentive, ready to fix or adjust whatever needed doing to my needs.  Excellent decision after knee surgery to recover here!!

C.J. – October 2018

I stayed here for postoperative care after a hip replacement.  It was perfect. I could choose the level of care i needed but i knew someone was on call if necessary.  Being independent, i liked to recover in my own time and Nowton Court allowed me to do this whilst always being there as a ‘safety net’.  Lovely building excellent facilities, beautiful grounds and i felt safe and nurtured and it certainly aided my recover.  I would highly recommend as a place to heal.  Lovely people.

J.M. – October 2018

On arrival to Nowton Court after a hip replacement.  I was welcomed by 2 members of staff and taken to my room.  My room was much more than adequate, it had a huge garden facing window (south) with sun most of the day and was much larger than i anticipated.  The room was so well equipped for my needs – rise/fall bed and chair, a shower seat and toilet riser.  My overall impression was 5 star.  The staff could not do enough for me.  I am eternally grateful.

D.B. – November 2018

Excellent Care, Splendid Meals

J.C. – February 2019

My husband was very comfortable during his stay at Nowton Court and i felt very secure in the knowledge that he was in good hands.  All the staff were really lovely.

J.G. – February 2019

My daughter has returned the items you so kindly lent me after my wonderful stay with you.  Thank you so much – I really appreciated your generosity and kindness.

I may be back with you sometime soon!

Thank you again for all your kindness to me.

R.S. – March 2019

Very good home.  Quality of the meals and service in the dining room is excellent. Staff are very helpful.

D.H. – April 2019

I enjoyed a two-week recuperation period at Nowton Court following a hip replacement operation and cannot speak highly enough of the care which i received during my stay.  I had a spacious and comfortable south-facing room with a choice between eating in the Dining Room and in my room.

All the staff were most helpful and considerate of my needs.  Meals were good, varied and with generous portions and i felt that everything possible was done to ensure my recovery.

I would certainly highly recommend Nowton Court

M.G. – August 2019

Thank you for looking after my mother, during her recent stay at Nowton Court.  As on previous stays with you she found all the staff very friendly, welcoming and helpful.  Her room was comfortable, clean and well suited her needs and included specific items that she required namely the adjustable bed and chair. She really enjoyed joining in with the activities and the company of the other residents.

I am pleased that you were able to accommodate her as it enables my wife and i to take a break and know that she is safe and well looked after.

E.F. – September 2019

Very comfortable accommodation with very nice furniture and fittings.  Food nicely varied on a daily basis but sometimes portions are too large.

All staff are extremely kind and very helpful. It makes you very willing to return if you have sometime in the future.

I wish them all the best and look forward to seeing them all again.

S.N. – November 2019

I really enjoyed my brief stay at Nowton Court, following major foot surgery at BMI.  My big room was a pleasure to be in, particularly the view of the beautiful garden.  After the hospital bed, your was a great joy.  It was utterly peaceful, only interrupted by the arrival of nice meals.  No one bothered me but i know help was there if i needed it. I am sure my stay has really helped my good recovery.

M.H. – February 2020

A heartfelt thank you for everything you did for my mum.  It was all perfect and please do pass on my gratitude for your thoughtfulness.

M.S. – February 2020

The management and catering team went above and beyond to ensure that my mum was well looked after.  They treated her with compassion and ensured everything was stress-free. I cannot thank them enough.

This just confirms the wonderful, compassionate support that has always been given to my late mum and myself.

M.D. – March 2020

Thank you to all of the staff for the care, thoughtfulness and consideration which they have all gave to my mum during her stay with you.

My brother and i were able to take a rest knowing she was well cared for.

On be half of my mum, i would like to thank all of the staff for their kindness and everything they have done to take care of her during her stay.

Special thanks to the wonderful to the lovely ladies who supported her with her care.   You have all been so amazing!

M.D. – March 2020

Thank you for all the care you have given Mum during her stay with you at Nowton Court.

J.F. – March 2020

My mother was treated with dignity, care and compassion and i was extremely pleased with how quickly small concerns i had, were dealt with.  This was a great relief to me as i live 3 hours away from Nowton Court.

The staff at all levels were so caring.  We would not hesitate to place mum at Nowton Court again for respite care.

V.B. – April 2020

Thank you all so much for all of your care, guidance, help and good humour of my two years stay.

I am missing you all and send good wishes to you.

O.L. – May 2020

Very pleasant. All my needs were catered for i.e. toilet raiser, commode, an electric chair to raise me up. Staff were friendly and very helpful. I do not have a good appetite so asked for a lighter lunch and a salad supper which was duly produced. On Sunday the 10th, an afternoon tea was arranged to celebrate VE day.  As I was in isolation i was unable to attend.  I was brought up some cakes and prosecco which cheered me up.

B.F. – June 2020

Thank you for looking after my mum so well.  You were all kind, caring and thoughtful and it was good to know mum was in safe hands.

B.G. – August 2020

Many thanks again to you and your team for your very kind welcome. The stay has certainly helped me get quicker on my feet.

M.U. – September 2020

We can never thank you enough for your help and support for my mum and all the family during her stay with you.  We will share happy memories of Nowton.

C.U. – October 2020

Nowton Court is an impressive and welcoming facility, in beautiful grounds.  It can feel like a hotel, with many beautiful public rooms, especially the bright and airy dining room.

Staff are all very good, from the catering to housekeeping, to the concierge’s all offer great care and support.  The manager obviously cares genuinely about the residents and was always responsive when contacted.

D.H. – October 2020

I am nearly at the end of my third stay at Nowton Court, since early 2019.  Following a fall, in which i sustained pulled muscles, etc. in a thigh which i fractured last year, as well as a fractured wrist, i needed a period of recuperation.

Once again, i enjoyed a most beneficial stay, with the opportunity to have a complete rest being of great benefit to my legs recovery.  Despite the extra restrictions imposed by the Covid pandemic (Staff face masks; no visitors, etc.) the staff were most caring and solicitous, the accommodation very comfortable ; the meals varied and plentiful; and the overall standards have been maintained at a very high level.

I can wholeheartedly recommend Nowton Court to anyone who asks me.

A.C. – February 2021

My mother has been a resident at Nowton Court for the last 5 months.  I am more than pleased that she is there.  Before she moved in the manager asked about her likes, dislikes and her past, so they knew something about her when she arrived.  The rooms, both the public rooms and the bedrooms are beautifully decorated in the style of an elegant country house.

The care package offered to residents needing additional care is very satisfactory and the carers are kind.

My mother enjoys the company she has there, that of the residents and the staff.  The meals are clearly good from reports i receive.

Despite the limitations imposed by the Covid pandemic, i feel sure every effort is made too offer stimulating activities including accompanied walks around the extensive grounds.

Visiting arrangements made in Covid times are good and worthwhile.  In short, my mother has a good quality of life at Nowton Court.
