I would like to wish you all a very warm welcome to Nowton Court Village, which is situated within the beautiful grounds of Nowton Park, Bury St Edmunds. I have been working within the ‘Health Care Sector’ for many years; both in hospital and community environment’s.
My career started as a ‘Clinical Surgery Assistant’ in Northampton General Hospital where I experienced dealing with people who sometimes found themselves in unfamiliar surroundings and needing reassurance. I thoroughly enjoyed this time in my life and relished being able to offer them a hand to hold and comforting support with a friendly smile, when they were feeling vulnerable.
Upon moving back to Suffolk in 1985 I studied for a Diploma in Health and Social Care, whilst working for a local domiciliary care agency. I worked extremely hard and was promoted to the position of Senior Care Coordinator in 2009.
I joined the team at Nowton Court in 2011 as Deputy Manager and with my knowledge of care quickly recognised became ‘Care Support Manager’ in 2012. To my delight I was appointed as ‘House Manager’ in 2015 which I am thoroughly enjoying whilst opening up new avenues at Nowton Court.
I strongly have a passion for the elderly to remain independent and to manage their day to day living within a safe environment. Nowton Court is a Private Assisted Living Complex which offers the freedom of choice with the reassurance of the 24 hour Concierge service; elements of care can be provided as a different arrangement based on the domiciliary structure. I believe that the care provider we offer is one of the best in the country and working with my own experiences and knowledge, Nowton can offer an excellent home for many.
Simply Nowton takes the daily chores out of daytime living so that residents can cherish their senior years how they wish, whilst not feeling that their important independence has been taken away from them.
